The academic programme of the Jamia deserves special appreciation. Indeed, it is a distinctive feature of the institution. As far as the Islamic learning is concerned, the service of it and its dissemination among new Muslim women generation is the chief concern of the Jamia and the only raison d’etre of its very existence. Towards this end, a most comprehensive syllabus, covering a whole range of the subjects representing the vast canvas of Islamic learning as well as the useful ingredients of the modern learning, has been devised and prepared in the light of suggestions saught in this regard from the experts.
Primary and secondary combined stage; maximum duration of which is ten year. In this duration the students are given instructions in fundamentals of the Islamic faith, basic grammar of the Arabic language and other religious subjects. Simultaneously, the modern secular subjects are the important constituents of the syllabus pursued at the stage.
The next stage of the Jamia’s academic programme is termed as Alimiat. This stage endures five years. During this stage the subjects taught are: the study of the Qurabic text with the help of the commentaries thereon, the Hadith & the Principles of the Hadith, Islamic Jurisprudence & the Principal of Islamic Jurisprudence, Arabic Language & Literature, Urdu Language & Literature, Islamic and the world history, and select areas from the modern humanities and social sciences. The successful completion of this five years course entitles the students obtain the degree of the Alima.
The third and the last stage is termed as Takhassus (specialisation). At present, the institution offers this facility in Arabic language & literature and in the Uloomul-Quran.
To cut the long story short, the academic programme of the Jamia is indeed a rare composite of Islamic as well as modern learning. By its nature, such a comprehensive programme is rightly expected to make a Muslim women lead a purposeful Islamic-oriented life, meeting successfully the modern challenges of life.
